Thinking antagonist...

Jarboe here... Mr. Carter has some things to say below... enjoy...

There is a lot of contemplation today about antagonists. Antagonists are quite often the funnest characters in novels (and movies). I love the character development of Saruman. Darken Rahl is a crazily attractive antagonist.


But, what about when the antagonist is not a physical presence, not a live person?


For example, what happens when the antagonist is TIME?


Or FEAR?


Can these ideas only be tools of the antagonist? Or, can TIME alone be the primary antagonist?
